Why your Web Designer shouldn’t do your Web Marketing…

To lump all web designers into one category surely would not be fair…however many of these very talented and essential service providers, though they shine in the creative and coding, lack the expertise and the time to help you market your site with the numerous avenues available on the web today.
Frankly, keeping up with the changes in web marketing is a full time job, and when it comes to the success of your business, I’d recommend leaving it to someone who has put in the time to make sure they understand what is happening, and how to capitalize on the fast paced ever changing landscape of the internet.
Some Basic things your Web Designer may not have considered:
Your Website Copy: What were your intentions when you wrote the copy for your site? Did you make any effort to include keywords and search terms that your customers may use when attempting to find a business of your type? Although we never recommend that you write your copy for search engines alone, there are often ways in which you can casually and naturally insert certain words that describe your activities which search engines use to determine the relevance of your site.
Landing Pages/Navigation: What do your potential customers see when they get to your site? Is it easy for them to reach the information that they want? We’ve all been to websites that we have glanced at and then hit the back button on our web browser on, because we could not quickly and easily find the information that we we looking for. Chances are if you’re like most people, your site was designed without thinking through the number of clicks a visitor must go through or how easily they can find the things they need to in order to buy your product or service.
Integration of Social Media/Networks: How easy or difficult is it for your visitors to share the content of your website on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit etc? With the power of social media amounting literally to hundreds of millions of people, and increasingly becoming more and more a way for people to share interesting content and buying decisions with friends and acquaintances, you can’t afford not to have these “Share on” type of integration on your site.
These are just few of the considerations that you have likely not considered in the creation of your site. Give us a call today to find out what we can do for your business! (858) 248-4074
